In 1996, we started planting the Soul Patch Vineyard with Pinot Noir, Syrah, and Chardonnay and began the resurrection process of the Zinfandel vines planted 100 years prior, back in 1896.
To celebrate the 30th Anniversary of Soul Patch, we are excited to announce a limited production sparkling we began crafting to coincide with this incredible milestone!
Guy carefully selected a single row of Pinot Noir from Soul Patch for this bottling. The extended tirage (time aging in bottle) adds a richness that results in beautiful, creamy, mousse-like bubbles that marry naturally with the expressive berry notes that are a signature of Pinot Noir.
Even some of our biggest Superfans may not know, that the very first Davis Family Vineyards wine Guy crafted was made during his final harvest in France, which preceded crushing his first vintage of Davis Family wine in California. “Brut deux Milles” was a luscious Blanquette de Limoux that he timed to age long enough so that the corks could be popped just in time to commemorate the new millenium.
Thirty years later, we celebrate all of the support you’ve given our small, family winery. We THANK YOU for continuing to invite Davis Family wines to be a guest on your tables during many of your own special milestones. Salud!
