The
Soul Patch Vineyard is the little Patch of vineyard at our
home here in the Russian River Valley, the vineyard I
planted 15 years ago and nurture daily with my heart and
Soul – (those of you that have met me know the other punch
line to this trademarked vineyard name…20 years of the same
facial hair) We have kept our favorite barrels aside before
as a special wine, the PinnaCole, and have now decided to
bottle a special combination from this block every year- the
vines are now old enough they have evolved as a special
place, with the steep, east facing slope that basks in the
morning sun but avoids the harsh afternoon sun making it a
very pretty, and classy wine. ~~Guy Davis
Gold Medal 2010 Sonoma County Harvest Fair.
Rusty Gaffney the Prince of Pinot says, “Proprietor
and winemaker Guy Davis consistently crafts outstanding
Pinot Noirs. "Captivating perfume of rich and deep ripe
dark berries with a hint of dried rose hips and cut flowers.
Mouth coating flavors of fresh picked black raspberries and
blackberries that attack the mid palate with a vengeance and
persist on the long and lush finish. Striking in its
impeccable balance and sexy, silky texture. Class in the
glass!"
The Beverage Tasting Institute gives it a Gold
medal and "Exceptional" quality, their highest rating.
BTI says, "Rich chocolate covered boysenberry, mocha, and
waxy honeycomb aromas with a round, supple, dry-yet-fruity
medium-to-full body and a long, tangy cherry butter and
peppery spice finish."
