 Not just Old Vines but
Ancient Vines!
This vineyard was planted in 1896. It had
been given up for dead, left overgrown and neglected for 20
years when we bought this property in 1996. We saved
& resurrected a multi- acre parcel at the foot of the slope
and in 1998 it set enough grapes to make 3 barrels!
The age of the vines is not the best part.
They have the wonderful brambly, old vine character but
the very best part is the balance of this wine - perfect
character - bright, juicy red raspberry mixed with a smoky
plum and that great old vine spice, ripe but never over
ripe. Lively and fresh a Zinfandel that delights and
enhances the meal and is itself highlighted by the food.
Full-bodied but not heavy, lush and simply delicious!
